What SHOULD I EXPECT?

During your initial appointment we will spend the first 30-45 minutes discussing your brow goals, mapping out the perfect shape customized for your bone structure and choosing the ideal color and technique to fit your needs.

Lauren works with your natural brow hair as much as possible. While she may groom the brows, she does not shave off your existing brow! Furthermore, this process does not impede the growth of hair or change the color of your existing hair.

Lauren strives to create a natural result and will utilize different techniques depending on your desired look, existing brow hair and skin type to give you a totally custom brow. She will use her years of experience to help you get the best results possible! You will be well informed every step of the way!

Once the initial procedure is complete we will schedule your complementary touch up done 6-8 weeks later. At this appointment we will make minor adjustments to the strokes, shape and color as needed. Once the touch up is healed you can expect to have beautiful brows for 1.5 to 3 years before needing a refresh session. Lauren always has your longterm results in mind and aims to give you something you can grow with and age with gracefully.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE?

Most people are great candidates for permanent makeup! Lauren customizes each procedure depending on the client’s skin type, natural coloring and desired look. However…

You should be able to answer NO to all of the following questions:

  • Do you have extremely sensitive facial skin? Tissue quality is everything when it comes to a successful cosmetic tattoo. If the brow or lip tissue has wrinkles, sun spots, scars or conditions such as eczema, desired results may suffer.

  • Have you received Botox, fillers, laser treatments, or chemical peels within the last 2 weeks?***If you show up to your appointment with Botox or Dsyport done within the last 2 weeks you will be turned away and charged the $250 cancellation fee.***

  • Do you have existing microblading or brow tattoos? Corrective work must be approved prior to the appointment. ***If you show up with undisclosed existing brow work that Lauren is unable to improve upon, you will be charged the $250 cancellation fee***

  • Do you have diabetes, lupus, or any other disease that can disrupt healing? Discuss this procedure with your doctor prior to making an appointment.

  • Do you have any allergies to dyes, makeup or skincare products?

  • Do you have nice brows, but the majority of the hair is white? Brow tinting would be a better fit for you.

  • Are you under 18 years old?

  • Are you pregnant or nursing?

  • Have you undergone cancer therapies within the last 3 months?

  • Have you taken Accutane in the last year?

  • Are you prone to keloid scars?

  • Are you extremely prone to cold sores (for lip blushing only)?

DOES IT HURT?

Everyone has a different level of pain tolerance, but on a pain scale of 1-10 almost all of my clients say they're at a 1 or 2.  Some clients sleep through the procedure!  A topical anesthetic is applied before the procedure and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible.

Wear comfortable clothes, as you will be lying down for about an hour. Bring a jacket if you get cold easily.

How do i prepare for MY APPOINTMENT?

Set yourself up for success! Please DO NOT drink alcohol or take any blood thinning medications  (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, fish oil, etc.) 24 hours prior to your appointment. DO NOT get excessive sun 2 weeks prior to your appointment. DO NOT wax or tweeze 48 hours prior to your appointment!  DO NOT receive Botox injections within 2 weeks prior to your appointment. DO NOT use of Retinol based products or AHA products on the face for at least a week prior to your appointment.

DO come to your appointment with your daily brow makeup look on, whatever that may be. It is helpful for Lauren to see what you’re used to and a little makeup makes for a better before and after photo! DO feel free to show me your favorite before and afters of my work to give me a better idea of your desired look. More examples can be found on my Instagram and Facebook page. Bringing in heavily photoshopped images of supermodels as an example of what you want is rarely helpful or realistic.

Lauren will send you home with a care package and detailed instructions on how to achieve the best healed results. Be prepared to avoid excess water, excess sweat and excess sun for 7-10 days post procedure. Treat your new brows like an investment!

The brows will be a bit bold and then slightly flaky for a few days, but you should be able to go about your daily life with ease. Lauren has a very delicate technique, so unless you have extremely sensitive skin or do not follow the aftercare instructions, the healing process should be a breeze!

Lips:

If you have ever had a cold sore, you will need to take an antiviral Rx 3 days prior to your appointment. DO NOT receive lip fillers within 1 month prior to this procedure! DO keep your lips hydrated and exfoliated prior to the procedure.

For 4-6 days after the procedure you will be applying a light layer of balm and avoiding pools, oceans, saunas and excess sun exposure. Expect mild swelling and chapping 2-3 days post procedure. Lip aftercare is very simple!

SHOULD I TIP?

Truly a FAQ! Tips are never expected, but always appreciated. The average tip is about 10%, but Lauren is most concerned with knowing your are satisfied with your service.

The brows will look more intense when freshly done, but they soften a lot once healed. Always look for examples of healed work when choosing a cosmetic tattoo artist.

Lips will be bright and swollen immediately following the lip blushing procedure, but that will subside within 2-12 hours. Once healed, the lips return to their normal size with a subtle blush of your chosen color.

Freshly microbladed and powder shaded brows.
